October Group Lesson Schedule

Please note* ALL CLASSES REQUIRE PRE-REGISTRATION/PRE-PAYMENT BY THE DEADLINE TO ENSURE THEIR SUCCESS AND YOUR PLACEMENT IN YOUR DESIRED CLASS. THANK YOU!

In order of start date, classes are available on the following nights of the week, please scroll to the end for all information:

SUNDAY NIGHTS at The Schoolhouse/Low Country Dance Center

October 2nd-October 30th, pre-register by September 25th*

Price is $110/couple and $60/single for the 5 week session.  Pre-register by mailing a check to Juli Pruden at 2636 Joshua Circle, Beaufort, SC 29902 to arrive by the appropriate date above. All checks are held until we meet the minimum number to hold a class. Please be sure to specify for which class you are registering and include your contact information.

5:30--6:30PM  Beginner Ballroom--This class will give you the poise and confidence to get out on a dance floor with the basics in Foxtrot, Waltz, and East Coast Swing as well as the partnership skills to make them look and feel good.  Join in the fun!  

6:30-7:30PM  Beyond Beginner Ballroom--This class is for students who took Beginner Ballroom earlier this year or who have previously taken lessons in Foxtrot, Waltz, and East Coast Swing.  Rumba will also be incorporated.

7:30-8:30PM "Lazy" Lindy--Think Lindy Hop is all high speed and crazy aerials?  Think again.  Lindy Hop teaches great principles of movement so you can maximize the way you use your body for dance.  It is great fun, and originated in Harlem around the 1930's--come see why it continues to be so popular!

TUESDAY NIGHTS at Dataw Community Center (Island Club membership only)

October 4th-November 1st, pre-register by September 27th* with Dataw Community Center directly

Price is $110/couple for the 5 week session and $60/single.

Private lessons taught may include any of the following dances: Foxtrot, Waltz, East Coast Swing (single or triple step), West Coast Swing, Beginner Lindy, Rumba, Cha Cha, Tango, Samba, Salsa, Viennese Waltz, Hustle, Beginner Two-Step, Night Club Two Step, Blues, Quickstep, Bolero, and Merengue. Price may vary by venue/rental fee but is generally about $75/hr. Packages of 5 private lessons are also available for a discount. Gift certificates may also be purchased. If there is a particular group class you would like to see offered, please let me know. I am always looking for suggestions.

Saturday Night Dances!

Hopefully we will have enough social dancers to support a monthly dance beginning this October. It will likely be held at the Schoolhouse in downtown Beaufort, home to Low Country Dance Center. Because of the overhead to run a dance, pre-registration one week in advance is required to ensure we have enough participants to cover expenses. Dances may be held approximately once a month from October to May. They begin at 7:00PM with a one hour seminar that changes every month, and general dancing goes from 8:00PM to 11:00PM. Light snacks and beverages are also provided. Admission is $12p/p for the evening. Please bring a change of shoes.
